J. Stephen Hamilton - President & CEO
J. Stephen Hamilton brings considerable industry expertise to his role as President & CEO of ChemLogix. For more than thirty years, Mr. Hamilton has honed his knowledge of the chemical logistics world, leveraging his experience to drive success for both ChemLogix and its customers.
Prior to ChemLogix, Mr. Hamilton served as President & CEO of GATX Chemical Logistics, which had acquired his previous company, Leaman Logistics, Inc. in September 1999. As President and CEO of Leaman Logistics, he oversaw a wholly owned subsidiary of Chemical Leaman Corporation specializing in third party logistics services for the chemical industry. Mr. Hamilton originally joined Chemical Leaman in the summer of 1990 as Vice President, National Accounts, and was named Vice President, Sales & Marketing in 1993.
During his sixteen-year tenure at PQ Corporation, a medium-sized chemical company in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Mr. Hamilton progressed from Plant Manager to Product Manager to Business Group Manager before being named the National Sales Manager.
Mr. Hamilton received his Bachelor of Arts from Penn State University, and attended St. Joseph’s University M.B.A. Program. He also served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. Penn State University presented Steve with the Pashek Award for Distinguished Service to the Logistics Profession on April 17, 1998
Edward R. Hildebrandt – Senior VP, Operations
Ed Hildebrandt began his career in information technology where he worked in sales, marketing and general management for IBM and Digital Equipment. His career in chemical logistics began in 1991 with Chemical Leaman Tank Lines where he served as Director, National Accounts representing Chemical Leaman to some of the world’s largest chemical companies. In 1997, he joined Leaman Logistics as Vice President and General Manager of Intermodal Services and continued in this position when Leaman Logistics was sold and became part of GATX Chemical Logistics. In 2001, he took over as Senior Vice President Operations for ChemLogix.
Frank Erzinger – VP, Supply Chain Consulting
Frank Erzinger brings more than twenty years of experience in strategy and operations improvement to ChemLogix. During his time consulting with McKinsey and KPMG, Mr. Erzinger gained immeasurable expertise in converting strategy to hands-on, measurable operations performance improvements. He has extensive experience in activity-based costing and process reengineering which he has used effectively in improving supply chain efficiencies in the chemical industry. He has worked in the US, Europe, Far East and Middle East.
Mr. Erzinger received his BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wyoming and University of Southern California respectively. He obtained an MBA from the University of Houston. His professional affiliations are with the National Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
Mike Skinner – VP, ChemLogix Technologies
As Vice President of ChemLogix Technologies, Mr. Skinner is responsible for strategic development, marketing and deployment of ChemLogix’s technology-based solutions and services. Mr. Skinner leverages his experience in supply-chain consulting, information systems and operations management to help chemical shippers design and deploy world class technology solutions in their efforts to reduce costs and improve service.
Prior to joining ChemLogix, Mr. Skinner served as Senior Manager with Ernst & Young’s Supply Chain consulting practice in Philadelphia, where he led business process improvement and technology deployment projects for various companies including Ford Motor Company, Sony Electronics and Crown Cork & Seal. He gained hands-on operational experience as Operations Manager of a large third-party distribution operation, overseeing warehousing and transportation operations for companies in the medical devices, automotive and grocery industries.
Mr. Skinner received his Bachelor of Applied Science from University of Pennsylvania and a master’s in Business Logistics from Penn State University.
Ken Vrtis – VP, Business Development
Ken Vrtis joined ChemLogix in 1999 to head the company’s sales and marketing efforts. Besides opening new accounts, his responsibilities include the development of new logistics service offerings for the chemical industry and creating economic value for our clients. Prior to ChemLogix, he spent four years as VP of Sales for the Welch Packaging Group developing a new sales organization while personally handling key accounts in the Midwest market. Mr. Vrtis spent eight years as Director of National Accounts for Chemical Leaman Tank Lines marketing creative and innovative transportation solutions to the top chemical companies with complex logistics challenges. Mr. Vrtis also spent eight years at Lanier Business Products in various sales management positions and two years at Citicorp as Director of National Accounts in the cash management sector of the bank. Mr. Vrtis received his bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Finance from Northern Illinois University.
